In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “Woe to the idol shepherd that leaves the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened”, and in chapter twelve and verse one of Zechariah, Zechariah shared about, “the burden of the word of the LORD for Israel” where we read,
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, says the LORD, which stretches forth the heavens,
and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.
The verse reads, “The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, says the LORD, which stretches forth the heavens, ...”Zechariah began with the words, “the burden” or “the load, tribute, desire and porterage” “of the word of the LORD” which means “pertaining to the utterance, declaration and proclamation belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “for Israel” or “on behalf of Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”, “says the LORD” which means “utters, declares and proclaims Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “which stretches forth the heavens” or “who extends and spreads out the visible heavens, sky and atmosphere”. Zechariah began to share concerning another utterance from Jehovah God who spreads out the visible heavens, sky and atmosphere.
The verse continues, “... and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.” Zechariah added the words, “and lays the foundation” or “and founded, fixed, established and began the fundament and base” “of the earth” which means “belonging to the land, country, territory and world”, “and forms the spirit of man within him” or “and fashions, frames and makes the vivacity, animation, vigor and courage belonging to a human being inside of them”.Zechariah added that Jehovah God founded the base of the world and fashioned the animation, vigor and courage inside of people.
When we consider Zechariah's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God began to speak again, and because He spread out the “heavens, formed the foundation of the world and framed the soul and heart of people, everyone who hears His words should listen and obey. God loves people, and He has spoken to us through His word, the Bible, and by His Holy Spirit. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a desire to hear and take heed to whatever our Great Creator says.
Next time Zechariah shared how Jehovah God says, “I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
