What the Governors Say - Zechariah 12:5

In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said, “I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness, and in chapter twelve and verse five of Zechariah, Zechariah shared what Jehovah God said about, “the governors of Judah” where we read,

And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart,

the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

The verse reads, And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, ... Zechariah began with the words, “and the governors of Judah” or “and the chiefs, chiliarchs or chieftains belonging to Judah whose name means praised and was the kingdom comprised of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin which occupied the southern part of Canaan after the nation split upon the death of Solomon” “shall say in their heart”  which means “will utter, declare and proclaim within their, the governor's, souls, minds, wills, living being, desires, conscience and seat of emotions” the following words. Zechariah shared how “Judah's” chieftains would declare within their souls the following words.

The verse goes on to say, “the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God. Zechariah continued with the words, “the inhabitants of Jerusalem” or “the dwellers, abiders and ones who remain belonging to Jerusalem whose name means teaching of peace and is the chief city of Palestine and capital of the united kingdom and the nation of Judah after the split” “shall be my strength” which means “will exists as my, the governor's, power, might and ability” “in the LORD of hosts” or “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God who is over the spiritual army of angels and warriors” “their God” which means “their, the people of Judah and Jerusalem's, Supreme Deity”. Zechariah shared how the chieftains of “Judah” will declare that the people who live in “Jerusalem” will exist as their power and might.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Zechariah how the leaders within the land of “Judah”will be aware that the people who abide in “Jerusalem” exist as their power and might. God will be with the people of “Jerusalem”, and all those around them will know the effects of His presence. God loves Israel, and through them came His Messiah and Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He gives all who will believe and trust in Him as their “Savior and Lord” forgiveness of sins, everlasting life and a “strength” within by His Holy Spirit that will have others know, they have been in the presence of Almighty God.

Next time Zechariah shares how Jehovah God says, “in that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
