God Hissing for Israel - Zechariah 10:8

In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said, “they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yes, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD”, and in chapter ten and verse eight of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “I will hiss for them, and gather them” where we read,

I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them:

and they shall increase as they have increased.

The verse reads, I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: Zechariah began with the words, “I will hiss for them” or “I, Jehovah God, shall whistle for them, the people of Ephraim or Israel”, “and gather them” which means “and assemble and collect them, the people of Ephraim or Israel, together”; “for I have redeemed them” or “because, since and on account that I, Jehovah God, have rescued, ransomed, delivered and liberated them, the people of Ephraim or Israel”. Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said He would whistle for the people of “Ephraim” or Israel and assemble them together because He ransomed and delivered them.

The verse continues, “and they shall increase as they have increased. Zechariah added the words, “and they shall increase” or “and they, the people of Ephraim or Israel, will become many, much, numerous and great in number”, “as they have increased”  which means “in likeness to when they, the people of Ephraim or Israel were numerous and grew in number before”. Zechariah shared how the people of Ephraim or Israel would grow in number and become as numerous as they were previously.

When we consider Zechariah's words in this verse, we discover how God would beckon the people of Ephraim or Israel by way of a whistle, and He would collect them together because He delivered them. They would grow in numbers and be as many as they were previously. God loves the people of Israel, and He loves us. His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us an understanding concerning His love for the people of Israel and the entire world through them.

Next time Zechariah shares how Jehovah God says, “I will sow them among the people”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
