Make Them Like a Wheel - Psalms 83:13

In Psalms chapter eighty three Asaph spoke of the enemies of Israel and said, “Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yes, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna. Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession”, and in chapter eighty three and verse thirteen of Psalms Asaph shared the enemies of Israel say, “O my God, make them like a wheel”, where we read,

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

The verse begins, O my God, make them like a wheel; Asaph began with the words, “O my God” or “O my, the Psalmist's Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “make them like a wheel” which means “put, set, appoint, fashion and constitute, them, the enemies of Jehovah God and the people of Israel to exist similar to a whirlwind, rolling thing or dust”. Asaph appealed to the Divine judge Jehovah God to appoint His enemies to exist similar to whirling dust.

The verse goes on to say,as the stubble before the wind. Asaph continued with the words, “as the stubble” or “similar and in likeness to straw or chaff” “before the wind” which means “in the front, face and presence of the breeze”. Asaph shared how He desired to have Jehovah God cause His and the people of Israel's enemies to exist like chaff in the breeze.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Asaph beckoned the Divine judge Jehovah God to make the enemies of Him and the people of Israel to be like a whirlwind of chaff in the breeze. In other words, they would be easily blown away and vanquished. God is able to condemn anyone who rises against Him and His people, but He is a loving God who does not make this His first choice. He loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make all those who refuse and reject Him to be like “dust in the wind”.

Next time Asaph beckons Jehovah God to deal with the foes of Israel, “As the fire burns a wood”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
