In Psalms chapter thirty two David said, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile”, and in chapter thirty two and verse three of Psalms David said, “ When I kept silence, my bones waxed old” where we read,
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
The verse begins, “When I kept silence, ...” David began with the word, “when” which means “at the time and moment” “I kept silence” or “I, David, plowed, engraved, devised and plotted to be speechless, silent and dumb” the following occurred. David said at the time and moment he remained speechless concerning his sin, the following happened.
The verse continues, “... my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.” David added the words, “my bones waxed old” or “my, David's, essence, substance and life wore out, became out of use and consumed” “through my roaring” which means “by way of my, David's, distress, crying and moaning” “all the day long” or “throughout the entire sunrise to sunset”. David wrote how his very core or substance became worn out because of his crying out throughout the day.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David attempted to “keep silent” about his sin, but was unsuccessful because it bore upon his very core of life. Sin that is unconfessed outwardly manifests itself within a person's life. Aberrations of thoughts, words and actions often accompany a guilty person, and the only way to be relieved of this is to admit the sin and bring it before Jehovah God. This is the reason God sent His Son Jesus into the world. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (See John 3:16-17) God wants to forgive us even though He knows what we have done. When we believe and trust in His Son Jesus, our sins will be forgiven, our souls will be cleansed and we shall inherit everlasting life with Him guilt free throughout eternity.
Next time David says, “day and night your hand was heavy upon me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
