In Psalms chapter seventy-five Asaph wrote how Jehovah God declared, “I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn. Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck”, and in chapter seventy-five and verse six of Psalms Asaph said, “promotion comes neither from the east, not from the west” where we read,
For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
The verse begins, “For promotion comes neither from the east, ...” Asaph began with the words, “for promotion” or “because, since and on account that being exalted, extolled and raised up” “comes neither from the east” which means “does not arise and arrive from the going forth toward the eastern sun”. Asaph said exaltation and being raised up does not arrive from the eastern direction.
The verse continues, “... nor from the west, nor from the south.” Asaph added the words, “nor from the west” or “no and not in any way from going forth toward the western sun”, “nor from the south” which means “no and not in any way from going forth toward the uninhabited pasture or wilderness in a southern direction”. Asaph shared how “promotion” does not arise from the western or southern direction either.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Asaph how the advancement and exaltation of people does not come from a particular direction, and we shall learn that “promotion” only comes from Jehovah God. God has all power, authority and possessions, and He distributes them as He wills. (See 1 Corinthians 12:11) God's desire is to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and He sent Him into the world to provide salvation from sins for every person who believes and trusts in Him. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of death for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and distribute His gifts to us according to His Divine purpose and plan.
Next time Asaph says, “God is the judge”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
