In Psalms chapter seventy-six Asaph said, “Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: the remainder of wrath shall you restrain”, and in chapter seventy-six and verse eleven of Psalms Asaph said, “vow, and pay unto the LORD your God” where we read,
Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God:
let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
The verse begins, “Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God:” Asaph began with the words, “Vow, and pay” or “make a promise and a covenant of peace” “unto the LORD” which means “toward Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “your God” or “your, the people of Judah and Israel's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. Asaph instructed the people of Israel and Judah to make promises and a covenant of peace with Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.” Asaph added the words, “let all that be round about him” or “allow and permit each, every, the whole and everyone who surrounds and encircles him, Jehovah God, to” “bring presents unto him” which means “to carry, bear along and conduct gifts offered as homage to him, Jehovah God” “that ought to be feared” or “who should be reverenced, dreaded and kept in awe”. Asaph said everyone who surrounds Jehovah God should offer Him gifts of homage because He is to be worshiped and revered.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how Asaph instructed people to make promises and a covenant with Jehovah God. They should also offer gifts of homage to Him because He is worthy to be awed and revered. God loves people, and when they honor Him and give Him glory, He blesses them. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to worship and honor Him for all eternity.
Next time Asaph says, “He shall cut off the spirit of princes”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
