In Psalms chapter sixty nine David appealed to Jehovah God concerning his enemies, and he said, “add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into your righteousness”, and in chapter sixty-nine and verse twenty-eight of Psalms David said, “let them be blotted out of the book of the living” where we read,
Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
The verse begins, “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, ...” David began with the words, “let them be blotted out” or “allow and permit them, David's enemies, to be wiped out, obliterated and exterminated” “of the book” which means “from the missive, document, writing, commission and indictment” “of the living” or “pertaining to people who are alive, sustained and maintained”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow his enemies to be wiped out of the written missive of people who are alive.
The verse goes on to say, “... and not be written with the righteous.” David continued with the words, “and not be written” or “and in no way be recorded, inscribed, engraved and enrolled” “with the righteous” which means “alongside the just, lawful, right and correct”. David wanted Jehovah God not to enroll or inscribe his enemies alongside the lawful, just and correct.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see more of David's desires for his enemies. David wanted Jehovah God to wipe his hating foes from the written missive concerning people who are alive, and he did not want them to be inscribed or enrolled alongside people who are just and correct. God's offer of salvation through His Son Jesus is for every person to receive, and Jesus died on the cross for the sins of everyone. All people are invited to come to Jesus and receive Him as their personal “Savior and Lord”, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and confront any hating foe who remains among the living and in opposition to Him.
Next time David says, “I am poor and sorrowful”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
