In Psalms chapter sixty nine David said, “Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moves therein”, and in chapter sixty-nine and verse thirty-five of Psalms David said, “for God will save Zion” where we read,
For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah:
that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
The verse begins, “For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah:” David began with the words, “for God” or “because, since and on account the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “will save Zion” which means “shall deliver, liberate and be victorious for Zion whose name means parched place and is another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”, “and will build” or “and shall establish, cause to continue and restore” “the cities of Judah” or “the towns, places of waking and guarded encampments belonging to Judah whose name means praised and was the tribe descended from Judah the son of Jacob”. David proclaimed that the Divine judge Jehovah God would rescue and liberate Jerusalem and rebuild the towns and dwelling places belonging to “Judah”.
The verse continues, “that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.” David added the words, “that they may dwell there” or “so they, the people of Israel, are able to remain, abide and inhabit the cities of Judah”, “and have it in possession” which means “and seize, own, possess and inherit Judah”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God would “save” Jerusalem and rebuild the “cities of Judah” so the people of Israel may abide therein and have it as their inheritance.
When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how David proclaimed the rescue of “Zion” (Jerusalem) and rebuilding of the towns within “Judah” so the people of Israel could not only possess their land, but also live and inherit it as their own. In other words, God would vindicate the people of Israel from their enemies. God loves people, and He demonstrated His love us by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we submit to Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and rescue and rebuild whatever is necessary for us to inherit and dwell within for all eternity.
Next time David says, “the seed also of his servants shall inherit it”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
