In Psalms chapter seventy David said, “Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha”, and in chapter seventy and verse four of Psalms David said, “Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you” where we read,
Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you:
and let such as love your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
The verse begins, “Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you: ” David began with the words, “let all those that seek you” or “allow and permit each, every, the whole and everyone of the people who inquire of, desire and search for you, Jehovah God” “rejoice” which means “exult, display joy and be bright and cheerful” “and be glad in you” or “and exist as brightened up, gladdened, gleeful and merry within you, Jehovah God”. David wanted every person who searches for Jehovah God to be cheerful and merry in Him.
The verse goes on to say, “and let such as love your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.” David continued with the words, “and let such as love your salvation” or “and allow and permit people who have affection for your, Jehovah God's, rescue, liberation, prosperity and deliverance” “say continually” which means “utter, declare and proclaim constantly, perpetually and always”, “Let God” or “allow and permit the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “be magnified” which means “exist as great, important, made powerful, lifted up and advanced”. David wanted everyone who has great affection for Jehovah God's deliverance and liberation to constantly declare, allow and permit the Divine judge to be exalted and made important.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David wanted people who search for Jehovah God to display joy and be merry, and everyone who has strong affection toward His deliverance and rescue to constantly proclaim, “allow the Divine judge to be exalted”. When we search for God and “love” His “salvation”, we realize God's offering of His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (See John 3:16), and anyone who “seeks” for Him will find Him, and those who “love” His “salvation” will want to lift up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ so others will also come to search for Him.
Next time David says, “I am poor and needy”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
