In Psalms chapter twenty-nine David said “The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire. The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD makes the hinds to calve, and discovers the forests: and in his temple does every one speak of his glory”, and in Psalms chapter twenty nine and verse ten David said, “The LORD sits upon the flood”, where we read,
The LORD sits upon the flood; yes, the LORD sits King for ever.
The verse begins, “The LORD sits upon the flood;” David began with the words, “The LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “sits upon the flood” or “is seated, fixed, established, dwells, abides and remains on the deluge as in a sense of flowing”. David declared Jehovah God to be seated and fixed upon the deluge of the earth.
The verse goes on to say, “yes, the LORD sits King for ever.” David continued with the words, “yes, the LORD” or “even so and indeed Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “sits King” which means “is seated, fixed, established, remains and dwells as Royal ruler and judge” “for ever” or “unto long duration, futurity, everlasting and evermore”. David shared how Jehovah God is seated and remains as the Royal ruler and judge unto futurity and evermore.
When we think through the words in this verse, we discover through David how Jehovah God is seated and remains upon the “deluge” of the earth much like He did over the “flood” of Noah, and He dwells as the “Royal Ruler” forever and unto futurity. God has always been, is and will always be, and He desires that we live with Him forever in Heaven. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of mankind so that every person who believes and trusts in Him may be forgiven and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God who is seated over the “floods” of the world and reigns and rules for evermore.
Next time David says, “The LORD will give strength unto his people”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
