In Psalms chapter fifty one David told God, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me”, and in chapter fifty-one and verse eleven of Psalms David told God, “cast me not away from your presence”, where we read,
Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your holy spirit from me.
The verse begins, “Cast me not away from your presence;” David began with the words, “cast me not away” or “do not throw, fling or hurl me, David, apart and separate” “from your presence” which means “from your, Jehovah God's, face, forefront and countenance”. David entreated Jehovah God not to hurl him apart from His countenance and face.
The verse continues, “and take not your holy spirit from me.” David added the words, “and take not your holy spirit” or “and do not seize, fetch, lay hold of and remove your, Jehovah God's, set apart, sacred and hallowed third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit who is coequal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son” “from me” which means “apart and separate from me, David”. David appealed to Jehovah God not to remove His “Holy Spirit” from him.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David did not want to be separated from Jehovah God. Because of his sin, David felt alone, abandoned and removed from God. God does not want to “cast away” anyone, nor does He desire to remove His Holy Spirit from them. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and given God's Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. (See John 16:13) Let all praise, honor and glory be given to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ His Son for their provision to everyone who surrenders to Him.
Next time David tells God, “restore unto me the joy of your salvation”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
