Low, High, Rich and Poor - Psalms 49:2

In Psalms chapter forty nine David said, “Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world”, and in chapter forty nine and verse two of Psalms David said, “Both low and high, rich and poor, together” where we read,

Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

The verse begins, Both low and high, ...” David began with the words, “Both low” or “even so and indeed children, youths and grandchildren of people” “and high” which means “and older children, youths and grandchildren”. David included younger and older offspring and progeny as those who should “hear” what he has to say.

The verse continues, rich and poor, together.” David added the words, “rich and poor” or “wealthy and needy or wanting”, “together” which means “united and alike”. David included people who were wealthy and in need to be united as they listened to his words.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David wanted everyone to listen to his words. Young people, older people, rich people and poor were to take hold of his speech and apply what he had to say. God's desire is to have people from all walks and ages of life to listen to His message of redemption through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. Regardless of where we are stationed in life, let us open our ears and hear what Jehovah God has to say through His servant David.

Next time David says,my mouth shall speak of wisdom, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
