No Way to Redeem His Brother - Psalms 49:7

In Psalms chapter forty nine David shared about, “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches”, and in chapter forty nine and verse seven of Psalms David shared how, “none of them can by any means redeem his brother” where we read,

None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

The verse begins, None of them can by any means redeem his brother, ...” David began with the words, “none of them” or “not one of the people who trust in their wealth or boast in the multitude of their riches” “can by any means” which means “is capable and able through ransom, rescue, deliverance and preservation to” “redeem his brother” or “deliver or rescue his, the wealthy person's, male sibling”. David said no person who is wealthy or rich is able to ransom and rescue their siblings.

The verse goes on to say, “... nor give to God a ransom for him:” David continued with the words, “nor give to God” or “no and not in any way put upon, set, appoint, assign or designate to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “a ransom for him” which means “a price of life, bribe or redemption on behalf of the wealthy person's sibling”. David said the wealthy and rich person would not be able to pay a price of redemption for their sibling.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how riches and wealth are useless for redeeming a person. Even when a person is a beloved relative, they are unable to be delivered by the wealthy person's riches. God knew the price that must be paid, and only the death of His Son Jesus on the cross would pay for the redemption of mankind. When we submit to Jesus, we align with the only ransom that can redeem and forgive us. God's desire is to have a personal relationship with everyone, and no other payment is valuable enough to save and deliver us.

Next time David shares how,the redemption of their soul is precious, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
