In Psalms chapter forty eight David said, “We have thought of your lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of your temple. According to your name, O God, so is your praise unto the ends of the earth: your right hand is full of righteousness”, and in chapter forty eight and verse eleven of Psalms David said, “let mount Zion rejoice” where we read,
Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your judgments.
The verse begins, “Let mount Zion rejoice, ...” David began with the words, “Let mount Zion” or “allow and permit the range or hill country known as Zion which means parched place and was another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books” “rejoice” which means “be glad, exult, be joyful and merry”. David instructed “mount Jerusalem” to be glad an merry.
The verse goes on to say, “... let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your judgments.” David continued with the words, “let the daughters of Judah” or “allow and permit the female offspring and progeny belonging to Judah which means praised and was the kingdom that was comprised of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin which occupied the southern part of Canaan after the nation split upon the death of Solomon” “be glad” which means “exist as exulted and joyful and to literally to spin around”, “because of your judgments” or “since and on account of your, Jehovah God's, justice, process, procedure, litigation and cause”. David instructed the female offspring of the people of “Judah” to rejoice and be merry because of Jehovah God's justice and litigation that was to be brought upon their behalf.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David turned his attention toward the mountain in Jerusalem and the “daughters” of the people of Judah. He wanted them to “rejoice” and be merry because Jehovah God's justice was soon to be carried out. God watches over His people, and when they align with Him, they shall be joyful indeed. God sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender to Jesus, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted eternal life with Him. We may rejoice with “mount Zion” and the “daughters of Judah” because Jesus Christ came to bridge the gap between God and men.
Next time David says, “walk about Zion, and go round about her”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
