Psalms chapter forty nine begins with the heading, “[[To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.]]” which breaks down, “to the chief musician” or “to the preeminent, overseeing superintendent or chief choir director” “a Psalm” which means “a poem or melody set to notes” “for the sons of Korah” or “on behalf of the descendants or male children and grandchildren belonging to Korah whose name means bald”, and in chapter forty nine and verse one of Psalms David said, “Hear this, all you people” where we read,
Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world:
The verse begins, “Hear this, all you people;” David began with the words, “Hear this” or “listen, understand, consent and agree to that which David will declare”, “all you people” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of you, human beings both male and female”. David instructed every person who was reading and listening to his words to understand, consent and agree to that which he was going to declare.
The verse goes on to say, “give ear, all you inhabitants of the world:” David continued with the words, “give ear” or “hear, listen, hearken and be obedient”, “all you inhabitants” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the people who were dwellers, abiders and ones who live” “of the world” or “belonging to the age and duration of life”. David instructed every person who lives on the earth to hear his words.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David desired that every person who was reading and listening to his words to hearken and be obedient to what he had to say. This is also the desire of Jehovah God who gave His Son Jesus to be crucified for the sins of the world. When we “hear” God's plan of salvation from sins and receive His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let all who are reading these words yield to the words of David, and submit to Jesus Christ God's Son who was sent on behalf of our eternal salvation.
Next time David says, “Both low and high, rich and poor, together.”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
