God Coming and Not Keeping Silence - Psalms 50:3

In Psalms chapter fifty Asaph said, “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined”, and in chapter fifty and verse three of Psalms Asaph said, “Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence” where we read,

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:

a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

The verse begins, Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:” Asaph began with the words, “Our God shall come” or “Asaph and his fellow believers' Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God will be brought in and enter”, “and shall not keep silence” which means “and will in no way or manner be speechless and quiet”. Asaph said his and his fellow believers' God would enter and in no way be quiet.

The verse goes on to say,a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.” Asaph continued with the words, “a fire shall devour” or “supernatural flames and burning will waste away, consume and destroy” “before him” which means “in the face, front and presence of him, the Divine judge Jehovah God”, “and it shall be very tempestuous” or “and the fire will be exceedingly and abundantly dreadful, bristling and whirling away” “round about him” which means “in a circuit and compassing him, the Divine judge Jehovah God”. Asaph said a consuming flame would be in the presence of Jehovah God, and the flame would be exceedingly dreadful and whirling as it compassed Him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we notice that Asaph gave a wonderful description of the consuming power and might of Almighty God. Jehovah God would in no way keep quiet, and the whirling flame which surrounds Him would consume and devour anything He desired. God is ominous, and yet He allowed His Son Jesus to humble Himself, come to the world and die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He wants to forgive our sins, so we may be in fellowship with Him for all eternity. This powerful God, who does not keep silent and is encircled with consuming flames, will allow anyone who surrenders to Jesus to live eternally with Him.

Next time Asaph says,He shall call to the heavens from above, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
