I Will Praise You For Ever - Psalms 52:9

In Psalms chapter fifty two David said, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever”, and in chapter fifty-two and verse nine of Psalms David said, “I will praise you for ever”, where we read,

I will praise you for ever, because you have done it:

and I will wait on your name; for it is good before your saints.

The verse begins, I will praise you for ever, because you have done it:” David began with the words, “I will praise you” or “I, David, shall give thanks, laud and worship to you, the Divine judge Jehovah God” “for ever” which means “for long duration, everlasting, evermore and to perpetuity”, “because you have done it” or “since and on account of what you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have fashioned, accomplished, made ready and produced”. David said he would give thanks and worship Jehovah God unto perpetuity for that which He performed.

The verse continues, and I will wait on your name; for it is good before your saints.” David added the words, “and I will wait” or “and I, David, shall look for, hope and be in expectation” “on your name” which means “upon your, Jehovah God's, reputation, fame and glory”; “for it is good” or “because, since and on account that Jehovah God's name exists as precious, beautiful, fair and full of favor” “before your saints” which means “in the face, countenance and presence of Jehovah God's faithful, kind, godly and pious ones”. David said he would be in hope and expectation because of the reputation, fame and glory of Jehovah God, and His “name” is precious and beautiful in the presence of His godly and kind ones.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David declared that he would give thanksgiving and honor to Jehovah God even in the midst of the trouble “Doeg” caused him. David knew Jehovah God would defend him, and although “Doeg” believed he was getting away with his pernicious deeds, after some time of hoping, David would see God avenge him. God desires to be “good” to everyone who will surrender to Him through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and take vengeance upon those who accuse and malign us without having cause. We who believe shall “praise” Him forever for His “salvation” and “mercy” that has no end.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “The fool has said in his heart, There is no God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
