Like the Chariots of Amminadib - Song of Songs 6:12

In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded”, and in chapter six and verse twelve of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib” where we read,

Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib.

The verse begins, Or ever I was aware, ... Solomon began with the words, “or ever I” or “before I, the bride” “was aware” which means “perceived, knew, learned and discerned” the following occurred. Solomon shared how the bride said before she knew and learned the following happened.

The verse continues, ... my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib. Solomon added the words, “my soul” or “my, the bride's, heart, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and affections” “made me like the chariots” which means “caused me, the bride, to exist similar and in likeness to the horse drawn war transports” “of Amminadib” or “belonging to Amminadib whose name means nation or people and was a noble man or kinsman”. Solomon shared how the bride said her heart and mind were caused to exist similar to the war transports belonging to a noble man or people.

When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how the bride declared that her heart and mind were caused to exist similar to the war-transports of noble people even before she perceived that it was. Her desires had overtaken her, and she wanted to be in the relationship with the groom. God loves everyone, and when we understand that He sent His Only Begotten Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, we may enter into a relationship with Him through faith. Anyone who yields to Him will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life and be given a passion as vigorous as “the chariots of Amminadib” to pursue intimacy with Him.

Next time Solomon shares how the groom and his friends say, “return, return, O Shulamite so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
