In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me”, and in chapter seven and verse eleven of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “let us go forth into the field”where we read,
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.
The verse reads, “Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field;” Solomon began with the words, “come, my beloved” or “walk, proceed and lead, my, the bride's, well-loved groom”, “let us go forth” which means “allow and permit us, the bride and groom, to depart, proceed and be brought” “into the field” or “in the cultivated land or plain”. Solomon shared how the bride invited her well-loved groom to lead them to the cultivated land to do the following.
The verse goes on to say, “let us lodge in the villages.” Solomon continued with the words, “let us lodge” or “allow and permit us, the bride and the groom, to stop, abide, remain and pass the night” “in the villages” which means “within the hamlet, small town or settlement”. Solomon shared how the bride wanted the groom to allow them to remain and abide within the small town or hamlet.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how the bride gave an invitation to the groom to depart into the cultivated land, and they would abide within a small town or settlement there. The bride wanted to be with the groom, and when they departed from where they were, they could make their abode in this other location. God knows what this is like even as Jesus said, “let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:1-6). God wants us to be with Him forever, and He has prepared Heaven for every person who yields their life to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we humble ourselves and submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to depart this world to go and be with Him in Heaven where we shall forever be in fellowship with Him.
Next time Solomon shares how the bride says, “let us get up early to the vineyards” so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
