In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah saw a vision of a man on a red horse with red and white speckled horses following him, and Zechariah asked, “O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show you what these be”, and in chapter one and verse ten of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how, “the man that stood among the myrtle trees” said where we read,
And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said,
These are they whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
The verse reads, “And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, ...” Zechariah began with the words, “and the man” or “and the male being” “that stood among the myrtle trees” which means “who remained, was present and continued in the midst and middle of the trees known as myrtles” “answered and said” or “began to speak, responded, uttered, declared and proclaimed” the following words. Zechariah shared how the male being or angel who was present in the midst of the trees known as myrtles began to respond with the following words.
The verse goes on to say, “These are they whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.” Zechariah continued with the words, “these are they” or “the man riding on the red horse with the speckled red and white horses following exist as the ones” “whom the LORD” which means “that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “has sent to walk to and fro” or “has dispatched and assigned to amble about and make their way departing and returning back and forth” “through the earth” which means “over all the country, region, district and world”. Zechariah shared how the “man among the myrtle trees” told him the man riding the red horse with the red and white speckled horses following were dispatched by Jehovah God to go back and forth all over the world.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Zechariah how the “man among the myrtle trees” answered his question. The man riding the red horse with the speckled red and white horses following were assigned by Jehovah God to go back and forth all over the world. These were spiritual entities who traversed the earth and involved themselves in the affairs of people. (See Job 2:2) God is an eternal God who rules and reigns over all the universe, and His created beings fulfill His desires. Although we are unable to see these beings with our natural eyes, they exist and are among us. (See Ephesians 1:21; 3:10; 6:12; Colossians 2:15; 1 Peter 3:22) God wants us to eventually dwell in the eternal realm with Him, and because we have sin in our lives which keeps us separated from a personal relationship with Him, God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the whole world. Anyone, including us, who humbles themselves, repents of their sins and receives Jesus as their “Lord and Savior” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life in the eternal realm with God. Let all who read these words know this, there are spiritual beings; they go “back and forth” throughout the world; they surround us, and God wants us to yield to Him so we may live among them.
Next time Zechariah said the spiritual entities, “answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
