Two Young Roes - Song of Songs 7:3

In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the groom said to the bride, “How beautiful are your feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of your thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. Your navel is like a round goblet, which wants not liquor: your belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies”, and in chapter seven and verse three of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the groom said, “your two breasts are like two young roes where we read,

Your two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.

The verse reads, Your two breasts are like two young roes that are twins. Solomon began with the words, “your two breasts” or “your, the bride's, two paps, teats or bosoms” “are like two young roes” which means “exist similar to two youthful gazelles or roebucks” “that are twins” or “that exist as identical or fraternal twins”. Solomon shared how the groom told the bride her two bosoms were similar to two youthful gazelles that existed as “twins”.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the groom continued to speak of the bride's beautiful physical features. He repeated the idea that her bosoms were similar to youthful gazelles or roebucks (See Song of Songs 4:5), and there are times when repeating a compliment accomplishes much. The groom wanted to let the bride know about how he viewed every part of her, and in the same manner, God's Son Jesus wants us to know how much He loves us. He gave His life on the cross to pay the price for the sins of the whole world, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and filled with His Holy Spirit so our features become beautiful to Him and He is pleased with who we are. (See Revelation 4:11)

Next time Solomon shares how the groom says, “your neck is as a tower of ivory” so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
