I'm My Beloved's and He is Mine - Song of Songs 6:3

In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies”, and in chapter six and verse three of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, I am by beloved's, and my beloved is mine where we read,

am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feeds among the lilies.

The verse begins, am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: Solomon began with the words, “I am my beloved's” or “I, the bride, exist as my, the bride's, well-loved groom”, “and my beloved is mine” which means “and my, the bride's, well-loved groom, exists as mine, the bride's”. Solomon shared how the bride knew she belonged to the groom, and he belonged to her.

The verse continues, he feeds among the lilies. Solomon added the words, “he feeds” or “he, the groom, grazed and was nourished” “among the lilies” which means “in the middle or midst of Shoshannim or trumpet and tubular shaped flowers of architectural ornament”. Solomon shared how the groom was being nourished in the midst of the “lily”flowers.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we learn that the bride knew her well-loved groom was hers, and she was his. In other words, they belonged to each other. In addition, the bride re-emphasized that the groom was consuming and devouring food in the middle of the “lily” flowers. This is just the way she wanted it to be, and God desires the same for us. He wants us to be in a relationship where He is ours and we are His, and He made provision for this through His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a knowledge that we belong to each other and may be nourished within the planted flowers of the world.

Next time Solomon shares how the groom says, you are beautiful, O my love so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
