In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Sing unto God, you kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah. To him that rides upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he does send out his voice, and that a mighty voice”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse thirty-four of Psalms David said, “ascribe you strength unto God” where we read,
Ascribe you strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
The verse begins, “Ascribe you strength unto God:” David began with the words, “ascribe you strength” or “give, set, bestow and consecrate power, boldness and might” “unto God” which means “toward the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David instructed his readers and listeners to give and bestow power, might and boldness to the Divine judge Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.” David added the words, “his excellency” or “his, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, pride, majesty, rising up, swelling and haughtiness” “is over Israel” which means “exists above Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and nation of Jacob”, “and his strength” or “and his, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, power, might and ability” “is in the clouds” which means “exists within the fine dust and thin vapor in the heaven and sky”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God's majesty is above “Israel”, and His power, might and ability are shown within the thin vapors in the skies.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David wanted his readers and listeners to bestow power and might upon the Divine judge Jehovah God because His majesty and power is demonstrated and shown within the thin vapors in the skies. God wants to be first in the lives of every person, and when we put Him first in our lives, He will supply our every need. (See Matthew 6:33) God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for the sins of the world, and when we submit to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us eternal life with Him and prove Himself over and over again to be “excellent” over “Israel” and powerful in the cloudy skies.
Next time David shares about, “O God, you are terrible out of your holy places”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
