In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse twenty of Psalms David said, “He that is our God is the God of salvation” where we read,
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.
The verse begins, “He that is our God is the God of salvation;” David began with the words, “He that is our God” or “He, Jehovah God, exists as our, David and his fellow countrymen's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “is the God” which means “exists as the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “of salvation” or “pertaining to deliverance and saving acts”. David said Jehovah God is his and his fellow countrymen's Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God who provides saving acts and deliverance.
The verse continues, “and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.” David added the words, “and unto GOD the Lord” or “and toward Jehovah who is the existing One, Adonay and the reverent Master” “belong the issues” which means “are owned, possessed and held the outgoings, borders, extremities and sources” “from death” or “separate and apart from dying, pestilence and ruin”. David said Jehovah God holds and possesses the deliverance from dying.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David recognized Jehovah God's deliverance and ability to rescue people from death. This is God's desire. The Bible is very clear, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27), and every person will meet their appointment. Jesus came into the world to die for the sins of every person, and this is why He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (See John 3:16). When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life that guarantees that we shall never face eternal death separate and apart from Him.
Next time David says God, “shall wound the head of his enemies”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
