Bless God in the Congregations - Psalms 68:26

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said, “bless you God in the congregations” where we read,

Bless you God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

The verse begins, Bless you God in the congregations, ... David began with the words, “Bless you God” or “praise, salute and kneel down before you, Jehovah God, the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “in the congregations” which means “within the assembly or choir”. David instructed the people who assembled and the choir to praise, salute and kneel down before the Divine judge Jehovah God.

The verse continues,... even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel. David added the words, “even the Lord” or “indeed Adonay or the reverent Master”, “from the fountain” which means “separate and apart from the spring, source and flow” “of Israel” or “belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”. David added that the assembly and choir were to praise and honor the reverent Master from the spring, source and flow from Him.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David desired that the people who were assembled and the choir in the sacred place to give praise and honor to the reverent Master and Divine judge who is the source of Israel's life. God is to be praised for His loving care to all people, and He demonstrated His love when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be part of the choir who worships and honors Him.

Next time David says, “there is little Benjamin with their ruler”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
