God Commanding Your Strength - Psalms 68:28

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Bless you God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel. There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse twenty-eight of Psalms David said, “Your God has commanded your strength” where we read,

Your God has commanded your strength: strengthen, O God, that which you have wrought for us.

The verse begins, Your God has commanded your strength: David began with the words, “Your God” or “your, tribes of Israel's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “has commanded your strength” which means “has given orders, laid charge and ordered your, Israel's, power, might and boldness”. David said Jehovah God was responsible for the power and ability which was gained by Israel.

The verse continues, strengthen, O God, that which you have wrought for us. David added the words, “strengthen, O God” or “make strong, stout and hardened O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “that which you have wrought” which means “such as you, Jehovah God the Divine ruler, have committed, ordained and constructed” “for us” or “on behalf of us, David and his fellow countrymen”. David appealed to Jehovah God to harden and make stronger that which he committed and ordained for him and his fellow countrymen.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David appealed to Jehovah God to order His power to make firm and establish him and his fellow countrymen. God alone provides and defends His people Israel, and He desires to do the same for every person in the world. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of every person, and when we humble ourselves, turn from our sins and believe and trust in Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and establish that which He had committed and ordained for us.

Next time David tells what happens, “because of your temple at Jerusalem”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
