God Knows My Foolishness - Psalms 69:5

In Psalms chapter sixty nine David said, “I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: my eyes fail while I wait for my God. They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: they that would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away”, and in chapter sixty-nine and verse five of Psalms David said, “O God, You know my foolishness” where we read,

O God, you know my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from you.

The verse begins, O God, you know my foolishness; David began with the words, “O God” or “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “you know my foolishness” which means “you, Jehovah God, understand, perceive, discriminate, distinguish and recognize my, David's, folly”. David recognized that the Divine judge Jehovah God understood his lack of wisdom and folly.

The verse continues, and my sins are not hid from you. David added the words, “and my sins” or “and my, David's, errors, wrongs, guiltiness, offenses and trespasses” “are not hid from you” which means “exist in no way concealed, cut off, made desolate and covered from the Divine judge Jehovah God”. David shared how Jehovah God was aware of his “errors and wrongs”, and they were in no way kept secret from Him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David understood that God was aware of his lack of wisdom and wrongs. No one hides their sins from God, and this is why He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins which are not concealed, and He will grant us everlasting life with Him. God loves us even though we have sinned, and His purpose and passion is to save us from the penalty of sins which is death and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9)

Next time David says, “Let not them that wait on you … be ashamed for my sake”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
