My Beloved Found - Song of Songs 3:4

In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw you him whom my soul loves?”, and in chapter three and verse four of Song of Songs, Solomon shared how the bride said, “I found him whom my soul loves” where we read,

It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loves:

I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.

The verse begins, It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loves: Solomon began with the words, “it was but a little” or “there existed a small amount of time” “that I passed from them” which means “that I, the bride, traversed, overtook and alienated separate and apart from the watchmen”, “but I found him” or “that I, the bride, discovered, attained and secured him, the groom” “whom my soul loves” or “for the one my, the bride's, heart, mind, will, desires, conscience and seat of emotions and passions had affection and attraction”. Solomon shared how only a small amount of time went by after departing the “watchmen” when she discovered her well-loved groom.

The verse continues, I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. Solomon added the words, “I held him” or “I, the bride, grasped, caught, seized and took hold of him, the groom”, “and would not let him go” which means “and in no way would allow or permit him, the groom, to leave, depart or get away”, “until I had brought him” or “even to the time I, the bride, lead and carried him, the groom” “into my mother's house” which means “in my, the bride's, dwelling place, habitation and abode belonging to her female progenitor and immediate ancestor”, “and into the chamber” or “and in the parlor room or innermost and inward part” “of her that conceived me” which means “belonging to her, the bride's mother, who became pregnant with me, the bride”. Solomon shared how the bride latch on to the groom and would not allow him to depart till the time she carried him to her “mother's” home and in the innermost part of her dwelling place.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the bride departed from the watchmen of the city and discovered her well-loved groom, and she would not release him till she took him to her mother's home. The bride did not want to be away from the groom, and when she couldn't find him, she became desperate for him. There are times when God will allow us to search in various places that seem to be fulfilling but are not until we seek Him with all our hearts and minds. God loves us, and He wants an intimate personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put within us a passion to be with Him and to never let Him go. Let all who read these words hear and obey.

Next time the bride says, “stir you not up, nor awake my love, till he please so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
