In Psalms chapter forty seven David said, “O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah”, and in chapter forty seven and verse five of Psalms David said, “God is gone up with a shout” where we read,
God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
The verse begins, “God is gone up with a shout, ...” David began with the words, “God is gone up” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God departs, retreats and ascends” “with a shout” which means “along with a signal, sound of a tempest or blast of war, alarm or joy”. David said the Divine judge and ruler Jehovah God ascends with a sound of a blast of war, alarm or joy.
The verse continues, “... the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.” David added the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “with the sound which means “along with the voice or noise” “of a trumpet” or “belonging to a cornet or ram's horn”. David said Jehovah God ascends with the noise of a ram's horn.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David declared Jehovah God ascends with a blast of war and and noise of a ram's horn as though He is going to His throne or over and above a battlefield. We can imagine a crowd of people shouting, blowing trumpets and giving God praise as He ascends to His throne. Jehovah God rules the universe which He created, and He desires to share His mighty presence with every person who will surrender to His Son Jesus who came to die on the cross for the sins of the world. God will forgive everyone who believes and trusts in His Son Jesus, and He will grant them everlasting life with Him where they shall give Him praise, honor and glory forever as He ascends to His throne.
Next time David says, “Sing praises to God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
