In Psalms chapter forty seven David said, “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises”, and in chapter forty seven and verse seven of Psalms David said, “God is the King of all the earth” where we read,
For God is the King of all the earth: sing you praises with understanding.
The verse begins, “For God is the King of all the earth:” David began with the words, “For God” or “because, since and on account that the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “is the King” which means “exists as the royal ruler” “of all the earth” or “pertaining to each, every, the whole and everywhere within the country, territory, region, district and world”. David said the reason people should “sing praises” to Jehovah God is because He is the “Royal ruler” over every part of the world.
The verse continues, “sing you praises with understanding.” David added the words, “sing you praises” or “make music with voices and musical instruments you, people reading and listening to David's words” “with understanding” which means “by the use and means of circumspection, prosperity, prudence, attention, insight and comprehension”. David instructed those reading and listening to his words to “sing praises” by the use of their circumspection and comprehension of the role of Jehovah God over “all the earth”.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see why David desired that people “sing praises” to Jehovah God. God is the “Royal ruler” over all the world, and we are to give him praise and glory with songs of honor and comprehension as to who He is and what He does for us. Jehovah God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. Let us “sing praises” unto Him for who He is and what He has done on our behalf so that we may live with Him in Heaven forever.
Next time David says, “God reigns over the heathen”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
