In Psalms chapter forty seven David said, “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing you praises with understanding”, and in chapter forty seven and verse eight of Psalms David said, “God reigns over the heathen” where we read,
God reigns over the heathen: God sits upon the throne of his holiness.
The verse begins, “God reigns over the heathen:” David began with the words, “God reigns” or “the Divine ruler, judge and Supreme God ascends to the throne and is inducted into royalty” “over the heathen” which means “above the nation or people who are usually non-Hebrew or Gentiles”. David said the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God rules above the non-Hebrew Gentile people.
The verse goes on to say, “God sits upon the throne of his holiness.” David continued with the words, “God sits” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God is seated, fixed and established” “upon the throne” which means “on the seat of honor, royal dignity, authority and power” “of his holiness” or “belonging to his, the Divine judge's, apartness, sacredness and separateness”. David said the Divine ruler Jehovah God is seated upon His seat of royal dignity, authority, power and sacredness.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God rules over the non-believing people of the world, and He is seated upon His holy “throne” of power, authority and dignity. God is exalted over all the world, and yet He desires to have a personal intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. Let us come to know Jehovah God and give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity for who He is and what He has done for us.
Next time David says, “the princes of the people are gathered together”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
