In Psalms chapter forty seven David said, “O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth”, and in chapter forty seven and verse three of Psalms David said, “He shall subdue the people under us” where we read,
He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
The verse begins, “He shall subdue the people under us, ...” David began with the words, “He shall subdue the people” or “He, Jehovah God, will put to flight, lead away and destroy the human beings both male and female” “under us” which means “beneath and lower than us, David and His fellow believers”. David said Jehovah God would lead away and destroy the human beings who were beneath him and his believing companions.
The verse continues, “... and the nations under our feet.” David added the words, “and the nations” or “and people or human beings” “under our feet” which means “beneath and lower than the physical feet of David and his fellow believers”. David said Jehovah God would also put to flight and destroy every people group by placing them beneath the feet of him and his believing companions.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David trusted Jehovah God to put to flight and destroy any people group who rose up against him and his companions. He knew Jehovah God would place every “nation” beneath the physical feet of David and his fellow believers. God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone, and His invitation is open to every person in the world. When we yield to His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us eternal life with Him. However, should any person or people group refuse to receive Jesus, they will be among those that Jehovah God “subdues”, and woe be to them when He does.
Next time David says, “He shall choose our inheritance for us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
