In Psalms chapter forty seven David said, “O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph”, and in chapter forty seven and verse two of Psalms David said, “For the LORD most high is terrible” where we read,
For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
The verse begins, “For the LORD most high is terrible;” David began with the words, “For the LORD most high” or “because, since and on account that Jehovah who is the Supreme and uppermost existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is terrible” which means “exists as to be feared, awed, reverenced, honored and awesome”. David said people should “clap” and “shout” unto Jehovah God because He is the uppermost and Supreme God who is awesome and is to be honored, awed and reverenced.
The verse goes on to say, “he is a great King over all the earth.” David continued with the words, “he is a great King” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as the most important, exceedingly distinguished and most noble royal ruler” “over all the earth” which means “above each, every, the whole and everything within the country, territory, region, district and world”. David said Jehovah God is the “Royal Ruler” over “every” part of the world.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see David continue his exaltation of Jehovah God. God is awesome, and should be awed and revered. He is the Supreme God who rules and reigns over every part of the world. This same God, who is awesome and rules over everything, desires to have an intimate, personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to know Him as an “awesome” God, worthy to be praised and “Ruler” over everything and everyone in the world.
Next time David says, “He shall subdue the people under us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
