Arise for Our Help - Psalms 44:26

In Psalms chapter forty four David said, “for your sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. Awake, why do you sleep, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. Wherefore hide you your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaves unto the earth”, and in chapter forty four and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said, “arise for our help” where we read,

Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies' sake.

The verse begins, Arise for our help, ... David began with the word, “Arise” or “stand up, become powerful and come on the scene” “for our help” which means “on behalf of our, David and his believing companions', succor, assistance and aid”. David called out for Jehovah God to come on the scene and bring assistance to him and his fellow believers.

The verse continues, “... and redeem us for your mercies' sake.” David added the words, “and redeem us” or “and ransom, rescue and deliver us, David and his believing companions” “for your mercies sake” which means “because, since and on account of the purpose, intent and motive of your, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness”. David appealed to Jehovah God to ransom and deliver he and his fellow believers because of His goodness, kindness and faithfulness.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David appealed to Jehovah God again for His assistance, and he desired that God rescue and deliver him and his believing companions because of His goodness and kindness. God is good. God is kind, and God is faithful. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of all mankind so they could be forgiven and live with Him forever. God has indeed paid the price for our redemption, and when we submit to Him, we have responded to His “mercy” and will be blessed for all eternity. All praise, honor and glory be to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for “arising for our help” and “redeeming us for His mercies' sake”.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say,My heart is inditing a good matter, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
