Considering the Poor - Psalms 41:1

Psalms chapter forty one begins with the heading, “[[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.]]” which breaks down, “To the chief Musician” or “to the preeminent, overseeing superintendent or chief choir director”, “a Psalm” which means “a melody or poem set to notes” “of David” or “belonging to David whose name means blessed and was the second king of Israel”, and in chapter forty one and verse one of Psalms David said, “Blessed is he that considers the poor” where we read,

Blessed is he that considers the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

The verse begins, Blessed is he that considers the poor: David began with the words, “Blessed is he” or “O how happy exists the person whether male or female” “that considers the poor” which means “who understands, is prudent toward and circumspect about people who are lowly, weak and needy”. David said the person who understands and is prudent toward people who are lowly, weak and needy will exist as “O how happy”.

The verse continues, the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.” David added the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “will deliver him” which means “will rescue, liberate and rescue the person who considers the poor” “in time of trouble” or “within their space or period of hurt, bad, affliction and adverstiy”. David said Jehovah God would rescue people who “consider the poor” in their own time period of difficulties and affliction.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through David how there is a reward of happiness to people who have a mind toward those who are lowly and afflicted. They are promised to have Jehovah God looking out for their own interest when they have looked on the afflictions of others. God loves people, and He gave us His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so we may be forgiven and live with Him forever. In other words, Jehovah God looked upon us in our “poor” afflicted and lowly state and offered “salvation” to us. Jehovah God has “delivered” us in our time of need, and we have an opportunity to follow His example as we observe the troubled state of others.

Next time David says,The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
