Rejoice and Be Glad - Psalms 40:16

In Psalms chapter forty David said, “Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha”, and in chapter forty and verse sixteen of Psalms David said, “Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you” where we read,

Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you:

let such as love your salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

The verse begins, Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you: David began with the words, “Let all those that seek you rejoice” or “allow and permit each, every, the whole and everyone of the people both male and female who require, desire, ask and make inquisition of you, Jehovah God” “rejoice” which means “exult, be cheerful, make mirth and have joy” “and be glad in you” or “and exist as gladdened, brightened and merry within you, Jehovah God”. David desired that Jehovah God allow every person who desires Him to be cheerful and merry in Him.

The verse continues, let such as love your salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.” David added the words, “let such as love your salvation” or “allow and permit the people both male and female who have affection for your, Jehovah God's, deliverance, rescue, help, safety and victory” “say continually” which means “utter, declare and proclaim daily, always, perpetually and evermore”, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “be magnified” which means “grow, become great, important and made powerful”. David desired that every person who had deep affection for Jehovah God's deliverance and safety to constantly declare that He should be made great, important and powerful.

When we meditate upon words in this verse, we see how David pronounced a blessing of cheerfulness and gladness upon every person who desires a relationship with Jehovah God. He wanted people to exalt Jehovah God because of His deliverance to mankind. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit ourselves to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us an opportunity to declare to others the power, importance and greatness of Jehovah God. Let us “rejoice and be glad” as we celebrate the LORD Jesus and the “deliverance” and “salvation” He offers and paid for by dying on the cross and being raised from the dead.

Next time David says,I am poor and needy, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
