The Earth Shall Hear - Hosea 2:22

In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said to the nation of Israel, “and it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, says the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth”, and in chapter two and verse twenty-two of Hosea, Hosea said, “the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine and the oil” where we read,

And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil;

and they shall hear Jezreel.

The verse begins, “And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil;” Hosea began with the words, “and the earth” or “and the country, territory, region and world” “shall hear the corn” which means “will respond, testify, speak and shout to the wheat and grain”, “and the wine” or “and the freshly pressed grape-juice or fermented wine”, “and the oil” which means “and the shining fresh anointing oil”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God shared how the world would respond to the grain, the fresh pressed fruit of the vine and the anointing oil. 

The verse continues, “and they shall hear Jezreel.” Hosea added the words, “and they shall hear” or “and they, the corn, wine and oil” will respond, testify, speak and shout to” “Jezreel” whose name means “God plants or sows” and was the name of the two places in Palestine and of two Israelites. Hosea shared how “the corn, wine and oil” would pay attention to the valley of “Jezreel” where God rescued the nation of Israel. 

When we consider the words in this verse, we discover through Hosea how Jehovah God included how the “wheat, wine and oil” in the world would respond to the “earth” itself because of God's great love for the nation of Israel. God wants the world and it's contents to know how much He loves Israel, and He does the same for every person who surrenders to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause the world and it's contents to know about His love for us.
