In the book of Proverbs Agur said, “There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise. The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer. The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands. The spider takes hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces”, and in chapter thirty and verse twenty-nine of Proverbs Agur shared about, “three things which go well, yes, four” where we read,
There be three things which go well,
yes, four are comely in going:
The verse begins, “There be three things which go well, ...” Agur began with the words, “there be three things” or “there exists three items or objects” “which go well” which means “that step, stride and make their way in a good, pleasing and joyful manner”. Agur referred to three objects that make their way in a good and pleasing manner.
The verse goes on to say, “... yes, four are comely in going:” Agur continued with the words, “yes, four are comely” or “even so and indeed four items or objects exist as pleasing, joyful and glad” “in going” which means “in their walking, departing, proceeding, moving or manner of living”. Agur said there are “four” items or objects that are pleasing and joyful in their manner of living.
When we meditate upon Agur's words in this verse, we see how refers to another three and four group of objects that were created by God. This group will be noted for their manner of living, and each of them were given their path by God Himself. God loves His creation, and when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, He made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with Him. God will give us His Holy Spirit who will lead us in wise and joyful ways to proceed, and we shall be joyful when make our way in them.
Next time Agur shares about, “a lion”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
