Who Can Find a Virtuous Woman? - Proverbs 31:10

In the book of Proverbs Lemuel's mother said, “Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy”, and in chapter thirty one and verse ten of Proverbs King Lemuel asked, “who can find a virtuous woman?” where we read,

Who can find a virtuous woman?

For her price is far above rubies.

The verse begins, Who can find a virtuous woman? Lemuel began with the words, “who can find” or “what person is capable of discovering, attaining and acquiring” “a virtuous woman” which means “a female human being who is strong, mighty, wealthy and efficient”? Lemuel asked what person is able to acquire a “woman” who is strong, mighty and efficient.

The verse consider, “for her price is far above rubies. Lemuel added the words, “for her price” or “because, since and on account that her, the virtuous woman's, value and worth” “is far above rubies” which means “is exceedingly beyond the price of the precious jewels known as rubies”. Lemuel said the value of the “virtuous woman” exceeds the worth of precious “ruby” jewels.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Lemuel how acquiring a woman of exceeding strength and efficiency is often difficult to find. God knows who they are, and when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the ability to be like the valuable “virtuous woman” or to discover her.

Next time Lemuel says, “the heart of her husband does safely trust in her”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
