Founded Upon the Seas - Psalms 24:2

In Psalms chapter twenty-four David said, “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”, and in chapter twenty four and verse two of Psalms David said, “he has founded it upon the seas” where we read,

For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

The verse begins, For he has founded it upon the seas, ... ” David began with the words, “For he has founded it” which means “because, since and on account that he, Jehovah God, has fixed, established, appointed and ordained the earth and world” “upon the seas” or “on the large bodies of waters like the Mediterranean, Red and Dead seas including the Sea of Galilee”. David said Jehovah God fixed and appointed the world upon the “seas” or oceans and large bodies of waters.

The verse goes on to say, “... and established it upon the floods.” David continued with the words, “and established it” or “and ordered, fixed and set the earth or world” “upon the floods” which means “on the streams or rivers”. David wrote how Jehovah God also set the “earth” upon the rivers and streams.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through David the process by which Jehovah God established the earth. He founded the dry ground upon the “seas” and “rivers”, and all that is upon the earth was fixed and ordered by Him. God created the Universe, and the earth was a part of that Creation. (See Genesis 1:1) He set and fixed the dry land upon waters, and people are able to dwell upon His land because He set it in place. This same Creator Jehovah God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone when they believe and trust in His Son Jesus. To enjoy His world at it's fullest, we are to align with His plan of salvation and allow the beauty of His creation to be revealed. God sent Jesus to the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we trust in, rely upon and cling to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring us into a personal relationship with Him that shall last not only on the earth, but also in Heaven with Him for all eternity.

Next time David asks, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
