Publish with the Voice of Thanksgiving - Psalms 26:7

In Psalms chapter twenty-six David said, “I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. I will wash my hands in innocency: so will I compass your altar, O LORD”, and in chapter twenty six and verse seven of Psalms David said, “that I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving” where we read,

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous works.

The verse begins, That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, ...”. David began with the words, “That I may publish” which means “so I, David, will consent, regard, summon, proclaim and utter” “with the voice” or “with the noise and sound of uttered words” “of thanksgiving” which means “pertaining to giving praise to God with a hymn, thank-offering or sacrifice”. Because David would not keep company with wicked and evil people and encompassed Jehovah God's altar, he would proclaim uttered words of praise and honor to Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “... and tell of all your wondrous works.” David added the words, “and tell of all” or “and recount, relate, reckon, rehearse and declare each, every, the whole and everyone of” “your wondrous works” which means “your, Jehovah God's, marvelous, surpassing, extraordinary, separate and distinguished actions”. David said he would also recount and declare each and every one of Jehovah God's marvelous and extraordinary acts and deeds.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David conducted himself because he remained separated from wicked and evil people and he surrounded the altar of Jehovah God. David gratefully proclaimed “all” the marvelous and extraordinary acts of Jehovah God, and we have the privilege to read those declarations even now. God loves to have an intimate relationship with people, however, sin separated people from Him. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so they may have access to Him. When we receive Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He forgives our sins and grants us everlasting life with Him. As we keep ourselves from “evil workers” and surround His “altar of sacrifice”, let us also proclaim to the world all the wonderful “works” of Jehovah God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Next time David says, “LORD, I have loved the habitation of your house, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
