Integrity and Uprightness Preserve Me - Psalms 25:21

In Psalms chapter twenty-five David said, “Consider my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in you”, and in chapter twenty five and verse twenty-one of Psalms David said, “Let integrity and uprightness preserve me” where we read,

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on you.

The verse begins, Let integrity and uprightness preserve me;” David began with the words, “Let integrity” which means “guard, watch over and keep completeness, fullness, innocence and simplicity” “and uprightness” or “and straightness, equity, and what is even and due” “preserve me” which means “guard, watch over and keep me, David”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow and permit innocence, simplicity and equity to watch over and keep him.

The verse continues, for I wait on you.” David added the words, “for I wait” or “because, since and on account that I, David, look for, hope and put expectation” “on you” which means “upon you, Jehovah God”. David declared how he put his hope and expectation within Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David appealed to Jehovah God to allow the characteristics of “innocence and simplicity” to watch over him because he had hope and expectation within Jehovah. David knew Jehovah God was the source for qualities within his life that would keep him in His path. “Integrity, uprightness and hope in Jehovah God” keeps a person aligned with what God has for them, and as we submit to His Son Jesus who came to die on the cross for the sins of the world, we will enjoy His forgiveness, eternal life, presence, blessings and favor throughout eternity.

Next time David says, “Redeem Israel, O God, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
