Right Hand Full of Bribes - Psalms 26:10

In Psalms chapter twenty-six David said, “Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men”, and in chapter twenty six and verse ten of Psalms David said, “their right hand is full of bribes” where we read,

In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.

The verse begins, In whose hands is mischief, ...”. David began with the words, “In whose hands” which means “within whose, the sinners and bloody men's, physical hands or strength and power” “is mischief” or “exists wicked and evil plans, devices, purposes and thoughts”. David said people who are “sinners and bloody” have “wicked and evil” plans and practices within their power.

The verse goes on to say, “... and their right hand is full of bribes.” David continued with the words, “and their right hand” or “and the sinners and bloody persons' right hand of authority and rule” “is full of bribes” which means “is complete, furnished and filled with presents, gifts and donations that are venal or redemptive”. David wrote how “sinners and bloody men” also have their authority furnished with gifts and donations that are meant to persuade them toward corrupt judgment.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David understood that people who are “sinners and bloody men” were not only involved in wicked and evil plans and purposes, but they were also paid by others to give corrupt judgments in their favor. David wanted no part of them, and neither does God. Although God loves everyone, He is a Holy God who requires righteousness and holiness from those who follow Him. Jesus came to die on the cross to fill the gap that is between every person and God, and only through His “righteousness” does anyone have a personal relationship with Him. When we conduct ourselves like David, we too will understand the heart and will of people who oppose Jehovah God and His ways, and we will align ourselves with Jesus who is able to keep us from their activities and mindset in everything we do.

Next time David says, “I will walk in my integrity, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
