The Meek Shall Eat and Be Satisfied - Psalms 22:26

In Psalms chapter twenty-two David said, “You that fear the LORD, praise him; all you the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all you the seed of Israel. For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. My praise shall be of you in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him, and in chapter twenty two and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said, “the meek shall eat and be satisfied” where we read,

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him:

your heart shall live for ever.

The verse begins, The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him:” David began with the words, “The meek” which means “the poor, humble, needy and afflicted” “shall eat” or “will devour, feed and consume” “and be satisfied” which means “and exist as sated, fulfilled and surfeited”: “they shall praise the LORD” or “the meek will boast about, commend and glorify Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “that seek him” which means “who resort to, inquire of and consult with Jehovah God”. David said people who are poor and needy would consume and be satiated, and those who resort to and inquire of Jehovah would give Him honor and glory.

The verse continues, your heart shall live for ever.” David added the words, “your heart” or “the inner part, mind, will, soul and understanding” “shall live for ever” which means “will remain alive, sustain life and be restored to health unto perpetuity, continuously and eternally”. David said the “soul and mind” of the “meek” would maintain perpetual life.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Jehovah God cares for the “poor, needy and humble”, and because they “honor and glorify” Jehovah, their lives would be sustained eternally. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when we humble ourselves, surrender to Him and receive Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. Let us be of a “meek and needy” spirit and give praise and honor to Jehovah God as we live with Him forevermore.

Next time David says, “all the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
