The Troubles of My Heart are Enlarged - Psalms 25:17

In Psalms chapter twenty-five David said,The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant. My eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. Turn you unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted”, and in chapter twenty five and verse seventeen of Psalms David said, “the troubles of my heart are enlarged” where we read,

The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring you me out of my distresses.

The verse begins, The troubles of my heart are enlarged:” David began with the words, “The troubles” which means “the straits, distress, vexations and anguishes” “of my heart” or “pertaining to my, David's, inner man, will, soul, understanding, thinking and reflection” “are enlarged” which means “exist as large, roomy, broadened and open wide”. David shared how the straits and distresses of his inner man and soul were broadened and open wide.

The verse continues,O bring you me out of my distresses.” David added the words, “O bring you me out” or “O Jehovah God deliver, break and carry me, David, out” “of my distresses” which means “from narrowness, anguish and distress”. David appealed to Jehovah God to deliver and rescue Him from his anguish and distresses.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David assessed the difficulties in his life. He felt like the distresses and vexations of his soul were wide open and expanded. He desired that Jehovah God would carry him out of his anguish, and this was his best option. God knows us and loves us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender ourselves to His Son Jesus, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. When we have difficulties that seem overwhelming, we may call upon Him to rescue and deliver us according to Him perfect will, purpose and plan.

Next time David says, “Look upon my affliction and my pain, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
