Who is This King of Glory? - Psalms 24:8

In Psalms chapter twenty-four David said, “Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be you lift up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in”, and in chapter twenty four and verse eight of Psalms David asked, “Who is this King of glory?” where we read,

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

The verse begins, Who is this King of glory?” David began with the words, “Who is” which means “what person is” “this King of glory” or “this Royal ruler and judge with honor, abundance, riches and splendor”? David asked what person was the Royal ruler of whom he spoke.

The verse goes on to say,The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.” David continued with the words, “The LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “strong and mighty” which means “powerful and brave”, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “mighty in battle” which means “strong and brave in war, engagement and fighting”. David declared Jehovah God to be powerful and brave even in war and engagements.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David rhetorically questioned who this Supreme and Royal ruler was who was to “enter” through the “gates and everlasting doors”. Jehovah God, who is powerful, brave and strong in life and war, was to come in. God loves people, and not only is He “strong and mighty”, but He is also gracious and giving to everyone who yields to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. God loves us, and He desires to save, forgive and cleanse us from our sins when we believe and trust in Jesus who sacrificed His life for our sins by dying on the cross. Let us declare with David the “strength and might” of Jehovah God and give honor and praise to Him for His willingness to “fight and war” eternally for our salvation.

Next time David says again, “Lift up your heads, O you gates, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
