God Girds with Strength - Psalms 18:32

In Psalms chapter eighteen David asked, “For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?”, and in chapter eighteen and verse thirty-two of Psalms David said, It is God that girds me with strength” where we read,

It is God that girds me with strength, and makes my way perfect.

The verse begins, It is God that girds me with strength, ...” David began with the words, “It is God” which means “Mighty, powerful and Almighty exists God who is the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “that girds me” or “who encompasses, clothes and equips me, David” “with strength” which means “with might, efficiency, ability and wealth”. David said God who is Divine and Supreme clothed him with ability and might.

The verse continues,... and makes my way perfect. David added the words, “and makes my way” or “and puts, sets, appoints, assigns and designates my, David's, manner, path, journey and direction” “perfect” which means “complete, whole, entire, sound and healthful”. David said Jehovah God assigned and designated his journey and direction in a complete and healthful manner.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David relied upon God for his ability and journey through life. David knew there was no one more powerful than God, and he knew God gave him power and might to live. David knew God was all-knowing, and there was no better One to rely upon for his day to day travels. In other words, David had a personal relationship with God. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they submit themselves to Him, He will forgive their sins, grant them everlasting life and be their “strength” and guide. God loves us, and He possesses what we need whether it be “strength” or “direction”, and we will give Him praise for all eternity for the blessings He gives us.

Next time David says, He makes my feet like hinds' feet, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
