The LORD Tries the Righteous - Psalms 11:5

In Psalms chapter eleven David asked, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do”, and he continued by saying, “The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. In Psalms chapter eleven and verse five David said, “The LORD tries the righteous where we read,

The LORD tries the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.

The verse begins, The LORD tries the righteous:” David began with the words, “The LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “tries the righteous” or “examines, proves and makes trial of people who are correct, right and lawful”. David said Jehovah God examines and proves people who behave and act in a correct and right manner.

The verse goes on to say,but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.David continued with the words, “but the wicked” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover people who are criminal, guilty and hostile to God” “and him that loves violence” which means “and the person whether male or female who is a friend to, participates in and has affection toward wrong, cruelty and injustice” “his soul hates” or “the living, mind, desire, emotion and passion of Jehovah God is odious toward, utterly detests and is as an enemy toward”. David wrote how Jehovah God utterly detests the cruelty, wrong and injustice of people who are evil, criminal and hostile to Him.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David the contrast of the way Jehovah God manages people who align with His ways and those who oppose them. God wants people to be “right and correct”, and when we yield ourselves to His Son Jesus, He will “try” us to reveal to ourselves ways that are according to His will and ways that are not. The “unrighteous and people, who are hostile to God” and enjoy participating in evil and pernicious deeds, are detested by Him. His plan of redemption and salvation of mankind included sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the “sins and misdeeds” of every person, and when we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9) Let us give praise and honor to Jehovah God for His willingness to “try” people who are with Him, and be against those who commit wicked and evil in the world.

Next time David says, Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
