The Righteous LORD Loves Righteousness - Psalms 11:7

In Psalms chapter eleven David asked, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”, and he continued by saying, “ The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. The LORD tries the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup”, and in Psalms chapter eleven and verse seven David said, “the righteous LORD loves righteousness” where we read,

For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; his countenance does behold the upright.

The verse begins, For the righteous LORD loves righteousness;” David began with the words, “For the righteous LORD” which means “because, since and on this account Jehovah who is the existing One and the One True God and is lawful, just, right and correct” “loves righteousness” or “has an affection and loving appetite toward justice, salvation and prosperity”. David said Jehovah God who is just and right has a deep and loving affection toward justice, salvation and prosperity.

The verse goes on to say,his countenance does behold the upright.David continued with the words, “his countenance” or “Jehovah God's face and presence” “does behold” which means “looks upon, sees, perceives and has vision toward” “the upright” or “toward people who are straight, correct, right and pleasing”. David wrote how Jehovah God's face looks upon people who are right and pleasing to Him.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God “loves” correctness, justice, salvation and prosperity according to His standards, and He “looks upon” people who live in this manner. God has a plan for every person's life, and it begins with them submitting to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. When we yield to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and begin the process of cleansing us and making us “vessels of use” in His Kingdom. Let us praise the LORD Jehovah God for His “love” of “righteousness” and His willingness to keep His eyes upon everyone who lives in a way that is pleasing to Him.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, Help, LORD; for the godly man ceases, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
